Overview

I partnered with Sheep Mountain Alliance, a non-profit in Telluride, CO to design a modern, cohesive digital experience that aligned their brand, messaging, and web presence. The project spanned brand expression, website design, and visual storytelling, with the goal of creating a clear, professional identity that could communicate their services and value more effectively online. My role was to translate their business into a structured, engaging digital experience—balancing clarity, credibility, and visual impact.

The Problem

Sheep Mountain Alliance had strong offerings—but their digital presence didn’t fully reflect it.

  • Brand expression lacked cohesion across touchpoints

  • Website structure made it difficult to quickly understand services

  • Messaging and visuals weren’t clearly aligned

  • The overall experience felt fragmented rather than intentional

As a result, users had to work too hard to understand what the company did and why it mattered.

Opportunity

Create a digital experience that feels:

  • Clear and immediately understandable

  • Visually cohesive and professional

  • Structured to guide users toward action

Transform the website from a passive presence into a strategic communication tool

Approach

1. Align brand and digital experience

I started by bringing clarity to the brand’s visual language, ensuring consistency across:

  • Typography and hierarchy

  • Color usage and visual tone

  • Image direction and composition

This created a foundation that could scale across the full site.

2. Re-structure the website around user understanding

I redesigned the information architecture to prioritize:

  • Clear explanation of services

  • Logical navigation and flow

  • Reduced friction in how users explore the site

The goal was to help users quickly answer:

What does this company do? → Why does it matter? → What should I do next?

3. Design for clarity and credibility

For service-based businesses, trust is everything.

I focused on:

  • Clean, modern layouts that feel professional and intentional

  • Strong visual hierarchy to guide attention

  • Clear content blocks that break down complex information

This helped position Sheep Mountain Alliance as both credible and easy to understand to easily gain new members.

4. Create a scalable design system

Rather than designing static pages, I developed a flexible system that could evolve with the business:

  • Reusable layout patterns

  • Consistent spacing and grid structures

  • Modular sections for different types of content

This allowed the site to grow without losing cohesion.

5. Balance simplicity with visual impact

The design needed to feel minimal—but not generic.

I used:

  • Strategic whitespace to improve readability

  • Bold but controlled visual moments

  • A balance between content and imagery

The result was an experience that feels both refined and engaging.

Impact

  • Created a cohesive brand and web experience aligned with business goals

  • Improved clarity around services and value proposition

  • Simplified navigation and user flow across the site

  • Elevated the overall perception of the brand through design

  • Delivered a scalable system for future content and growth

What I Learned

Working on Sheep Mountain Alliance reinforced a core principle:

Clarity is the most valuable design outcome.

When users immediately understand what a company does and why it matters, everything else—engagement, trust, and conversion—becomes easier.
